VANNAK:
First, we would like to greet all of you a pleasant good afternoon. My name is Vannak Chao and this is my wife Nary Chinn. We would like to share with you the testimonies of the Lord in our lives.
I grow up in the province of Battambang. Then, I came to Phnom Penh in 2010 to study in the university taking up Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. In my first year, my parents sent me to school and they just needed to support me for my tuition fee because I was blessed to have a free accommodation in a dormitory. God knows that my family had not enough money to support for my studies, food and accommodation.
In the dorm, I just have to cook my own food so that I don’t have to spend a lot for my food. I believe that it was the Lord who brought me to Phnom Penh to study in the university, this is God’s great work in my life because it seems like there is no way that I can come and stay in Phnom Penh. Jesus loves me so much. He made it possible. But as a student I faced a lot of challenges.
NARY:
I was born in the village, Baray District, Kampong Thom, 120 kilometers north of Phnom Penh. I am the third among four siblings. After I finished high school in 2010, I came to Phnom Penh to enrol at the Royal University Phnom Penh to take up Physics. Among the eight students from our village who graduated in our class, I was the only one who went for college. My father sold a piece of land to support for my studies, but it was good only for one year.
VANNAK:
Then God led me to know Pastor Rogil and his wife Ate Janice through the Campus Ministry. I was able to share to them my situation and the Lord used them to seek help for my studies from others whose hearts are touched by the Holy Spirit and I had no problem anymore with my food and accommodation. The church was available for my stay and a place of teaching. The Lord also enabled me to use the gift of teaching to earn a little to support my studies. I became a half scholar of The Cornerstone Organization starting my second year college until I graduate.
NARY:
I met Pastor Rogil and his wife Ate Janice through the Campus Ministry inside the RUPP. I became their english student. After my first year college, the funds of my family run out. When my family could no longer support my studies, I was so hopeless. My parents told me to look for someone for a husband. My parents thought that if I cannot continue with my studies, getting married would give me a better option.
However, I was not yet ready to get married and be a wife and a mother. I have a dream in life which I can only fulfil it if I finish my studies. I shared my dilemma about not able to enroll for my second year with Pastor Rogil and Ate Janice. By God’s grace, The Cornerstone Organization mobilized to raise funds and considered me a scholar. I was the first to receive a full scholar of The Cornerstone Organization and blessed by God to stay at the house of Pastor Rogil and Ate Janice until I graduate last 2015. Praise God, everything is provided for by God starting from my tuition fee down to my uniform and monthly allowances and others.
VANNAK:
The Apostol Family taught me about Jesus and about lots of things which help me develop myself as a person. I learned about different church ministries like doing the campus ministry, teaching kids at the Railroad and in Rah village, Kampong Chnnang. The Lord opened the minds of the youth as I and my wife were leading them for prayer and teaching. I had the chance to read, teach and share the Bible to them. By God’s grace, through the many people He used, I completed my college studies and also passed the Teachers Board examinations.
NARY:
True enough, my decision to continue my studies is worth it. I finally graduated last March 2015. And by God’s grace, the Lord directed my path by giving me to a man as my husband according to God’s plan. I am now happily married to one of my co- scholar, Mr. Vannak and we are now both serving the Lord as a couple in Battambang province, a Cornerstone Outreach.
VANNAK:
After passing the Teachers Board examination, the government assigned me to teach High School in my province, Battambang. My wife Nary and I are both teachers at Srok Komrieng, Banlaym Boarder, Battambang. The Lord really opened the door for us to be sent-off by Cornerstone Church as missionary couple to Battambang Province last August 2015. Right now, God led us to open a new Literacy Center to reach out high school students for the Lord since April of this year.
VANNAK & NARY:
To God be the glory!
